A series of stories published in the wake of Phil Rudd's stunning arrest referencing 'Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap' have apparently sparked renewed interest in AC/DC's timeless 1976 single.

Nielsen SoundScan is reporting just under 2,000 download sales of the song in the week ending Nov. 9, up more than 20 percent from the previous sales period. In fact, last week actually marked the biggest sales for 'Dirty Deeds' since April.

Rudd was initially arrested on Nov. 5 for trying to procure a murder, though that charge has since been dropped. He now faces charges of threatening to kill someone, and of drug possession. He returns to court of Nov. 27, even as AC/DC has moved on with plans for a new album and tour.

“We were resolved for us to go forward and I think Phil’s got — it’s something he’s got to do himself,” AC/DC's Angus Young said earlier this week. “He’s got to sort himself out, I think. But we were resolved to go forward. So at this point it’s kind of a question mark. But if we’re touring, there will be a drummer in place, put it that way.”
