Find out how many episodes you’ll see, and why ‘Low Winter Sun’ will have you talking inside!
AMC has officially decided to move forward with it’s next series, issuing a season order to UK remake ‘Low Winter Sun.’ Starring original series star Mark Strong, ‘The Walking Dead’s’ Lennie James and ‘Breaking Bad‘s’ David Constabile, the murder-mystery tale will unfold across 10 episodes at an unknown air-date.
Adapted from a 2006 UK miniseries, and written and executive produced by Chris Mundy (âCriminal Mindsâ), the AMC drama is described as âa contemporary story of murder, deception, revenge and corruption that starts with the murder of a cop by fellow Detroit detective Frank Agnew (Strong).â Instead, the murder forever alters the detectiveâs life by activating forces that pull him deeper into the Detroit underworld.
Endemol and Chris Mundy have produced a beautiful pilot with an incredible cast led by the insanely talented Mark Strong,â said Joel Stillerman, AMC Executive Vice President of original programming, production and digital content. âWeâre thrilled to be moving forward with this compelling and intense new drama and look forward to returning to Detroit for production on the first season.”
What say you? Does ‘Low Winter Sun’ sound like the next great AMC drama? Can it compete with ‘The Walking Dead’ and ‘Breaking Bad’?
