In the ever-revolving, never-evolving drama that is Guns N’ Roses and the will they / won’t they reunite drama surrounding their upcoming induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the “all you need is hate” motif seems to still apply.
Summer’s here and the time is right, for rocking in the streets… or at least in an appropriate venue of some sort. A cavalcade of rockers, from Van Halen to the Steve Miller Band and Crosby, Stills and Nash, are heading out on the road to help you enjoy the nice weather and make you forget about all your worries for at least one night...
Ring, ring, why don’t you give me a call? Ring, ring, the happiest sound of them all. The Beatles have entered the world of ringtone-mania! As of today, Feb 22, 2012, all you Beatle people can now add the Fab Four to your cell phone via an exclusive deal with iTunes. There will be 27 songs to pick from, all taken from their ’1′ collection.
Man, those Journey guys keep getting into legal trouble! After the news last week about Neil Schon being served with a (seemingly dubious) 50 million dollar lawsuit brought by his new girlfriend’s estranged husband, now we hear that Journey drummer Deen Castronovo has agreed to complete 80 hours of community service as a result of an alleged assault case from about a month ago.
Iron Maiden fans get ready! The mighty metal rockers will once again be hitting the U.S concert circuit this summer. Using their legendary ‘Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son’ tour and it’s concert video ‘Maiden England’ as a model, the tour will kick off June 21 in Charlotte, N.C. and wrap up August 18 in Houston, Texas.
There is no debate about the fact that Judas Priest are one of heavy metal’s pioneers. There is no second guessing the fire of songs like ‘Hell Bent For Leather,’ ‘Livin After Midnight,’ or ‘Breaking The Law.’ 1986′s ‘Turbo Lover,’ however, is a different kettle of stew. Even the most die-hard Priest fan would have to admit that this particular synthesizer-aided song wasn’t quite cut from the same cloth as most of the band’s early material.
Of all of this year’s inductees to the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame, the highest drama factor circles around, who else, Guns N’ Roses! While the big question of “will they or won’t they” reunite to perform at the event remains, we now have confirmation that all five original members of the fractured group will be in attendance.
Today (Feb. 10) would have been the 50th birthday of former Metallica bassist Cliff Burton, had his life not ended far too early. Burton performed on the band’s first three classic studio albums, and his influence is still felt strongly in the worlds of rock, thrash and metal.
