Avalanche Awareness

Are you prepared for an avalanche?  Of course you think you are.  You enjoy the outdoors, you're smart and know your way around a mountain or even a hill..Avalanche, ha, that won't happen to me!   Sadly the statistics are not in your favor.  Tomorrow (Tuesday December 12th) there will be an avalanche awareness presentation.  It's the 8th annual Scott Herren memorial Avalanche Awareness program at the Red Lion Inn, from 6pm to 9pm.  There will be free food and a no host bar starting at 6pm.  More importantly they will cover topics on terrain awareness, equipment usage, rescue and survival techniques and much more.  They encourage you to bring your avalanche equipment to get checked out, including avy packs, beacons and probes.  For more information, call Ed at 697-3023.
