Last week, we told you about J.P., a service dog from Billings who was nominated for DogTV's national "My Dog for Mayor" contest.  We are pleased to announced that J.P. has been named as one of the winners.

J.P. is one of several dogs from all over the country that will now serve as unofficial canine mayors for their cities.  Even before being declared as the Mayor of Billings dogs, J.P. was already a hero to several humans here in the community.  His work with disabled veterans suffering from PTSD even garnered the praise of our human Mayor, Thomas Hannel.

"“With JP the dog being a service animal and his dedication to disabled veterans, I may have to concede the Mayor of Billings race," Hannel told News-Talk 95.5.

Fortunately for Hannel, Billings has room for two mayors; one for people and one for dogs.
