Billings Parking Enforcement Officer Parks Illegally

How's this for irony:  a Billings Parking Enforcement Officer illegally parking his dumb little wanna-be golf cart.  This picture was taken today shortly after Noon on the Corner of 27th Street and First Avenue in Downtown Billings.

I have always assumed the yellow line on the curb exists to make the crowded intersection safer for drivers and pedestrians.  Or maybe to allow firefighters to access the nearby fire hydrant in case of emergency.  So why would someone who is purportedly "serving the public interest" violate rules that were intended to protect citizens?

I asked the Parking Enforcement Officer that question and he had no comment.  There were several open spaces behind him where he could have been parked safely and legally.  Instead, this public servant chose to ignore the same laws he is paid to enforce.
