After 50 years of rocking, Bob Seger is ready to retire from the road — but he has a few things he wants to take care of first.

That list includes a run of October shows that will take Seger and crew into New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Tampa, Orlando, Dallas, Denver, and Vancouver. Specific dates for the shows — and additional stops — will be announced later.

As Silver Bullet Band sax player Alto Reed explained to Rolling Stone in a recent interview, Seger felt he had unfinished business on the road: “We did a few dates on the East Coast, but we couldn’t do Madison Square Garden and we didn’t do Philadelphia or Pittsburgh.”

Aside from warming up for the fall tour, Seger has also been in the studio — a recent Facebook post informed fans that he’d been recording at Ocean Way in Nashville, working on a possible new album.
