4:21 p.m. update: The two women who drowned in the car have been identified by the Yellowstone County Coroner. Laura Madden, 36, of Billings and Sarah Breitenstein, 36, also of Billings died in the car accident. Coroner Chad Fehr identified the cause of death as drowning.


9:30 a.m. update: Billings firefighters have now removed a second body from the wreck.


The Billings Gazette is reporting that at least one body has been found in a car found over turned in an irrigation ditch near Stewart Park. The vehicle was first reported by an employee of the Parks and Recreation department at 6:30 am. When emergency crews arrived on the scene they lifted the car far enough to identify if anyone was in the vehicle. The police were able to identify at least one person and are now treating the area as a crime scene.

Investigators have been called and the scene has been taped off. A hazardous materials team is also on site to install absorbent materials into the ditch to soak up and liquids that may leak from the car.
