'National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation' was the third, and considered by many to be the best, installment in the 'Vacation' franchise. Like its predecessors, it was written by John Hughes and starred Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo. Unlike the other movies in the series, the "vacation" took place at the Griswold's home during the holiday season.
