We continue our lead-up to the ‘Girls‘ season 2 premiere with actor Christopher Abbott, who plays super-nice guy Charlie on the show. Look at that face! How can you break his heart?
Abbott has puppy-dog eyes, the kind of eyes that look like they’re always about to cry. It was sad then, in season one of ‘Girls,’ when Marnie broke his little heart and sent him into the arms of Audrey, a girl Marnie memorably — and accurately — described as looking like a “tiny Navajo.”
Charlie is a really sweet — maybe sometimes too sweet — guy who wears his heart on his sleeve and ends up getting hurt a lot, but we love his naivete and his unwillingness to change. He’s a good dude who means well. He’ll find the right lady someday!
Christopher Abbott is a versatile actor, who also starred in last year’s indie film ‘Hello I Must Be Going’ as the much younger love interest of Melanie Lynskey’s character, a recently divorced woman who has to move back in with her parents.
In both ‘Girls’ and ‘Hello I Must Be Going,’ Abbott gives off a sensitive but seductive side. We can’t get enough.
