The draft nearly ended Creedence Clearwater Revival in 1966, before they had even really begun. John Fogerty and Doug Clifford were called for military service, Fogerty enlisting in the Army Reserve and Clifford joining the United States Coast Guard Reserve.  When they were discharged in 1968, they quit their jobs and CCR debuted their self-titled album.
