Uriah Heep's progressive/heavy metal fusion, massive keyboards sound, and strong vocal harmonies made them one of the classic heavy metal bands of the 1970s.  "Demons and Wizards" was their most successful album in the United States, and both critics and fanss consider the album as "definitive" and a "crowning achievement" which according to allmusic.com, "solidified Uriah Heep's reputation as a master of gothic-inflected heavy metal."

While the title, sleeve and songs like "Rainbow Demon" and "The Wizard" suggested that the band was working medieval myth into their songs, a straight-forward, hard-rocking approach was also obvious.  There was also quite a bit more to the cover than meets the eye at first.  Play the audio below to hear Sam explain this classic vinyl cover, and why you'll never look at it the same again.
