I've often wondered how laughter originated.  Back in the paleolithic age when cavemen banded together in small villages, did they laugh?  And if so, what kinds of things did they laugh at?  Here's my theory about the first laugh ever.

Millions of years ago, when the cavemen were just starting to form tribes and had yet to develop a sophisticated language, some Cro-Magnon probably ripped a nasty fart around the campfire causing the other Neanderthals to laugh their pre-historic asses off. Either that or one of the cavemen accidentally got hit in the balls.

Although mankind has evolved over time, I suspect that farts and sack taps have been funny since the dawn of civilization.
