A dog’s bark may be worse than its bite, but the same can’t be said for its aim.

A dog in Sebring, Florida somehow shot its owner in the leg with the owner’s gun last weekend. Man’s best friend? Sure doesn’t sound like it.

It seems the victim, identified as 35-year-old Gregory Lanier, was driving merrily along in his truck when the pooch kicked a .380 pistol on the floor, sending a bullet into Lanier’s leg. It's being called an accident, but maybe this was just the canine's way of telling Lanier he needs to buy some better kibble.

The pup, whose name and breed has been withheld, was not detained by police. Lanier, who had thought the gun was empty, is expected to be okay, although he’s sure to come down with a serious case of embarrassment.
