Drunken Concert Memories…Or What’s Left of Them

Today, I read a story about a country music fan who puked onstage at a concert.  The dude that sings "Drunk on a Plane" saw a chick in the crowd dressed up like a stewardess.  Naturally, he pulled her up on stage to help him sing. Halfway through the song, she spewed all over the audience and was projectile vomiting all the way out of the venue.

It reminded me of a few drunken concert moments.  Here's my Top 5:

1. My date Jessica throwing up on me at Lollapalooza 93.  In high school, I worked with a hot chick at the local Little Caesar's. Somehow, she agreed to go out with me, so I came up with a brilliant plan.  I was gonna ply her with lots of Zima and take her to the raddest show of the summer.  During the first band (Rage Against the Machine), she mumbled "I don't feel good" and proceeded to vomit all over my shirt.  I made her stay for the whole show and never got past 2nd base with her.

2. My buddy Eric disappearing during the first song of a Faith No More concert '99 or '00.  The last thing I heard him say was "I gotta hit the head".  I went to the bar and bought two beers.  Ended up drinking them both. Two hours later, I found him in alley behind the theater, leaning against the wall next to a puddle of his own ralph.

3. My ex-girlfriend puking on the seat in front of us during Tom Petty.  It was July 3rd. I can't remember the year (2005-ish?), but we were in Denver visiting my brother.  After a few too many, my ex just leaned over, tossed her cookies, and kept on rocking. Luckily, the folks in front of us were standing and didn't get covered in sick.

4. My buddy Mikey getting thrown in the drunk tank at the Eagles reunion show.  Notice a trend here? I've got friends in low places.  This dude had waited for years to see this band. They were one of his favorites.  He must have pre-gamed a little too hard, because he stumbled in front of a cop on his way to the bar and landed in Detox.

5. My blind friend Nick taking a stripper to a Godsmack concert.  She managed to get them both backstage and eventually onto the band's tour bus.  The guys started feeding Blind Nick shots and getting him stoned.  Nearly an hour later, his date conveniently disappeared.  The drummer was giving her the old two dollar tour.. Nearly another hour later, she emerged from the back of the bus and drove Nick back to the radio station.
