Election Night in Yellowstone County
School Bond Election night! The big push is the YES For Kids School Bond Issue, $122.3 million for expansion and renovation as well as the building of two new Middle Schools, one in Billings Heights and the other in West Billings.
I was at the YES headquarters as one of my election night coverage spots and the YES For Kids crew is filled with positive energy, waiting for the ballot count.
I asked Jim Duncan, co-chair for the YES For Kids Campaign Tuesday night, if the Bond Issue goes through, what will be one of the first school projects? He said,
…there is a 65 day waiting period after a bond election and then we will look at the expansion of McKinley and Broadwater schools and then look at beginning the building of a new school. We are looking to break ground mid Summer 2014.
The official ballot count will be available on November 6th for the run for Mayor, City Council Seats and the School Bond Issue.
