Looking for an educational, yet fun way for your soon-to-be 2^nd through 9^th grader to spend the summer?  Check out the many academic-based summer camp offerings through Montana State University Billings Extended Campus!

Camps take place at either MSU Billings or City College, so students experience what it is like to be on a college campus. All camps are taught by K-12 educators or MSUB/City College faculty who are professional educators and experts in their fields.  Each camp is geared toward youth in specific grades that are educationally relevant - they are academics-based, but fun, so your children continue learning throughout the summer.

There are two different academic-based programs.  Both programs are fun, safe, and educational ways for youth to spend the summer months.  Kids on Campus programs are for children in 4-9 grades who want to learn something new or build upon an existing skill in camps like CSI Crime Investigation, Art (create your own comic book, create a large art mural, or learn the basics in 2D art), Cooking, Creative Writing, or more STEM-related topics (robotics, science, death defying math, introduction to the medical field and more).

The I THINK Camp program offers a one-of-a-kind opportunity for youth in grades 2-9 to be immersed in an environment that encourages advanced thinking, creative problem-solving and independent thinking while in a social setting.  The I Think programs are designed for students who excel in the classroom.

For this reason, participants are required to demonstrate their academic achievements by submitting a copy of their report card evidencing a 3.0 GPA (or equivalent) as well as a letter of recommendation from a school instructor.  These programs focus on either LEGO Robotics, coding, LEGO Stop Motion (think the LEGO Movie), and Raspberry Pi (students create their very own computer and learn how to use it).

Scholarships are also available for either the Kids on Campus or I THINK Camps to families who can demonstrate financial need.  All applications are due in our office by 5 pm on Monday, May 22.  This Scholarship Program was established to assist young people with the desire to attend a camp through Extended Campus, but whose families have limited financial resources.  Scholarships are for up to 70% of the camp tuition.
