Axl Rose and Guns N’ Roses continue to surprise fans with unexpected additions to the set lists of their American tour. Last week in Indianapolis, Black Label Society‘s Zakk Wylde joined the band to perform a pretty heavy version of AC/DC‘s ‘Whole Lotta Rosie.’

Wylde’s group is opening shows for GNR this winter. He tweeted about the experience last Thursday night. “INDIANAPOLIS ORDER OF THE BLACK!!! “WHOLE LOTTA ROSIE”!! ASS-KICKING Time W/The GnR Gang!!,” he said (click here and scroll down past all of the pro-Tim Tebow tweets to see it).

Wylde is a big Guns N’ Roses fan. He told Music Radar that Rose was amongst the greatest frontmen ever. “You’ve gotta give it up for Axl. Amazing songs, amazing production,” he says. “‘Appetite”s one of the greatest records of all time. The guy’s got the whole nine yards. As a frontman, nobody’s come close to him since he busted out.”

Later he joked that if he were to perform one song with Axl during this tour it’d be ‘Get Down Tonight’ by K.C. and the Sunshine Band. “OK, if I had to pick one … I’d pick whatever Axl asked me to jam on. If it’s a Guns N’ Roses song, it’ll be good. No worries there.”
