Jackson Browne must be pretty sure he’s going to have a good time on the road with Nickel Creek member-turned-solo star Sara Watkins this summer, because the duo has already extended its run of tour dates into the fall.

Browne and Watkins’ jaunt, dubbed the U.S. Acoustic Tour, kicks off in mid-July with a date in Charlotte, N.C., and was originally scheduled to conclude a month later in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. Now, however, they’ll pick up again in October, and run through to the middle of November, taking the performers across the South and Midwest.

“I’m really excited to have Sara joining me on this tour,” enthused Browne in a press release. “We’ve played together a number of times in the last few years, sometimes on her show and sometimes mine, and it’s always been a thrill for me. I’m floored by her amazing instrumental virtuosity and by her beautiful voice, and most of all, I love her songs.”

Watkins’ latest album, the recently released ‘Sun Midnight Sun,’ features guest appearances from a slew of famous friends, including Fiona Apple, Benmont Tench, Taylor Goldsmith of Dawes, and (naturally) Browne himself. Browne, whose recording pace has slowed in recent years, hasn’t released a studio LP since 2008′s ‘Time the Conqueror,’ although he issued a live album (‘Love Is Strange’) with his longtime guitarist David Lindley in 2010.
