JP is a Giant Geek and I’ve Got the ‘The Hobbit’ Extended Edition Collector’s Box Set to Prove It
So most people who know me have pretty much figured out that I am a pretty big geek. So I decided I would share my geekiness with all of you too. And what better way to prove it then by showing you my latest J.R.R. Tolkien themed purchase. This is the “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” Extended Edition with Limited Edition Amazon Exclusive Bilbo/Gollum Statue.
Yes, ladies and gentleman somewhere within that giant box is a copy of the first movie in Peter Jackson’s ‘The Hobbit’ movie series. This extended edition only had an extra 10 or some minutes of extended footage. Which when compared to the extended editions of the ‘Lord of the Rings’ trilogy, that really isn’t much. But of course if you’ve seen ‘The Hobbit An Unexpected Journey’ you’d probably agree there wasn’t much that Mr. Jackson didn’t include in the theatrical release.
So while there isn’t a ton of extra film footage, it more than makes up for that with its appendices discs. There are FIVE discs packed into this thing, and the movie just one of them! The appendices cover a wide variety of behind the scenes documentaries both of the creation of the film and Peter Jackson’s work in adapting Tolkien’s masterpiece into a movie.
If you’re a huge geek like I am, and enjoy jumping really deep into the back-story and creation of movies then I can’t recommend this guy enough!
