Not so long ago, I did a story on a local veteran Lockwood, went to Senior High and is now living down south. He was a lead truck gunner in Baghdad and was fortunate enough to come home in one piece.

Two months ago, however, Chas was diagnosed with stage 2 Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Chas in now fighting for his life. I asked listeners and readers for help and you responded.

My brother is a vet and asked VFW 6774 Mens Auxiliary for some help. Last night, that post donated $1,000 and gave it directly to Chas's dad, Chuck, to help out. I just want to say that there still are great people in this world and thank VFW 6774 Mens Auxiliary for helping Chas.

Chas has a gofundme page with more details please check it out HERE.

What a great thing for Veterans Day!
