At about 4:30 a.m. on Friday morning, January 3rd a call was made into the Yellowstone County Sheriff’s Department to reports of gunshots.Law enforcement arrived on scene as did Fire and Rescue from Lockwood. One man now identified as 52 year old Allen Alderman of Lockwood was shot dead and found outside of a residence at 3407 Wasco Avenue.

The first suspect, Martin Pond was arrested in Molt late on Friday afternoon.  Now a second suspect, 42 year old Cody Mack has been taken into custody by U.S. Marshal’s Montana Violent Offenders Task Force.  Martin Pond’s bond is set at $500,000 and Mack’s bond is $25,000.

Pond is claiming he shot in self defense.  He claims that, “Alderman came at him with a big knife and a small pistol“.

Cody Mack was arrested for aggravated assault related to a prior incident.  The investigation shows in a document that Mack may have helped in the hiding of Pond from law enforcement authorities and what lead to Alderman’s death.

Martin Pond will be arraigned in front of Judge Mary Jane Knisely on January 17th.
