This is the first volume of a new blog series called "Meet a Hawk Rocker".  We've got a bunch of badass listeners and we're going to introduce you to a different one every week.

Meet Adam Martin.  Adam grew up in Butte and moved to Billings in 1999.  He works in commercial refrigeration and drives all over Montana and Wyoming.  Needless to say, he spends a lot of time listening to the radio.

When he's not busy working or spending time with his wife and two boys, Adam loves to go on road trips.  His favorite annual events are the Cardboard Sled Races in Red Lodge (he's a former champ) and the Rockin' the Rivers Festival at the Bridge near Three Forks.

Back in 2004, Adam's favorite band Jackyl played Rockin' the Rivers.  As their show was ending, Jesse James Dupree busted out his signature chainsaw and carved up a homemade bar stool.  When Jesse threw pieces of the bar stool in the audience, Adam naturally reached out to catch one.  He ended up splitting his thumb wide open, but he held on to that bar stool.

Several years later, Jackyl came back to Montana and had the chance to meet Jesse and the Jackyl gang.  Of course, he brought that piece of the bar stool with him.  Jesse laughed at Adam's story and the whole band signed his stool.  Here's a picture of the concert poster that still hangs in Adam's garage
