Yes, we had an earthquake in Montana just after midnight.  Here are the particulars:  It was a 5.8 magnitude and originated 7 miles south-southeast of Lincoln.  It caused a power outage in the Lincoln area and at least one gas leak was reported according to the Lewis and Clark County Sheriff.  The quake was said to have been felt as far away as Seattle and Spokane Washington, Vancouver, BC, Calgary, Alberta, Boise ID and here in Billings.  Nine aftershocks followed.  We did have a 5.6 magnitude 12 years ago in Dillon, MT.  The strongest on record was the famous one at Hebgen Lake in 1959.  So there are the brief particulars.

Of course everyone is talking about it today.  Did you feel it?  My first reaction is, no, I didn't feel it!  It was in Lincoln and I'm in Billings.  It happen around 12:30 am.  At my house at 12:30am, I'm sleeping HARD.  The only thing that wakes me up is my "body clock" every morning at 4:30am, 365 days a year!  Thankfully nobody was hurt and only minor property damage was reported.
