He didn't play as many dates as he'd planned in 2013, but Neil Young is already filling up his concert schedule for next year.

Young has announced a handful of 2014 shows, starting in January with a series of benefit performances on behalf of the Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation relief fund, established to help Albertan natives fight the development of oil-sands reserves in the Canadian province. Young is scheduled to be joined by Diana Krall for the dates, four in all, starting on Jan. 12 in Toronto and concluding Jan. 19 in Calgary.

After trucking through the Canadian snow in January, Young and his entourage will be ready for warmer climes, and in July, they'll head to the U.K. to appear at the Hyde Park festival. On July 12, Young and Crazy Horse will join an eclectic group of artists -- including the National, Tom Odell, Caitlin Rose, Phosphorescent and Flyte -- on the sprawling 10-day event's impressive lineup. Barclaycard customers have access to a special pre-order sale that begins Dec. 11 at this website.

Young fans who find themselves jonesing for live Neil, but are unable to make the trek to Canada or the U.K., can content themselves with the just-released 'Live at the Cellar Door 1970,' which continues his Archives Performance Series with a look at a pivotal series of solo dates from early in his career.
