No Red Roses For Valentine’s Day!
The day of love comes around every year. Valentine’s Day!Over the years guys buy their sweetheart red roses and chocolate and all is good, right?
Wrong! Times have changed and red roses are boring on Valentine’s Day, at least in the impromptu survey I took recently with my wife, Keri’s vast array of lady friends of all ages.
…why red roses?-Tracy
…be more creative, for the day of love!- Renae
…how about dinner, (my choice), a warm drink and spring color flowers- Carrie
Chocolate candies are apparently left out of the Valentine’s Day equation, at least in Billings anyway unless you can make them unique. How about a variety of jewelry inside the candies?
Here is my opinion. Forget the grocery store selection of flowers for Valentine’s gift giving. Most seem to not last more than a couple of days worth of bloom. It is like getting day old bread from the bakery.
I have been “that guy”, the one who picks up a dozen assorted rose color flowers from the grocery store and although they are beautiful, they just don’t last. Valentine’s Day comes once a year, go all out with the quality of the Gainan’s Flower shop type store and the variety that they offer. It may cost you $10.00 or $15.00 more but worth the lasting love affect of their quality.
During my ten girl survey, not one mentioned that they were impressed with getting the “box of chocolates” that have become so habit forming to purchase for February 14th!
My wife’s birthday happens to be the day before Valentine’s Day. If you are in the same situation, do not combine the birthday and Valentine’s Day gift as one. This idea will not end well for you. That is just like buying a frying pan for your sweetheart for Christmas. And don’t do that either. Happy giving on Valentine’s Day and let the love sparks fly!
