Oh, the Joy of Cruising 80 MPH on Montana Highways

I took my first road trip this weekend and got my first experience with the new, higher speed limit. Headed west on I-90, I was surprised that the 80 mph started right at that overpass just past the Shilo exit.

And, when I got to the sign, it was "Green-Flag Racing" just like in NASCAR! Everybody was dropping the hammer and getting up to 80 right away. No "easing into it" for these Montana drivers. And once people get up to 80, they don't take it off the cruise control to let traffic merge or to let people pass.

That's fine with me. If you're in front of me in the left lane and won't move over, I'm quite content to stay 7 feet off of your bumper all the way to the Pacific Ocean, if that's what it takes. But, all in all, I like 80. A lot!
