Parking At Montana Fair Is A Pain, Or Is It?
After four days at the 2014 Montana Fair the attendance has been spectacular at MetraPark! As of the end of the day on August 11th, Montana Fair has seen about 110,000 thousand visitors!
The goal for attendance this year according to Ray Massie, Marketing and Director of Sales at MetraPark is 250,000! Billings is on pace to achieve that goal. In my opinion, parking seems to be a continuing challenge but I have a solution.
I was challenged with the parking issue on Friday night at 7:30 p.m. My family was waiting for me to arrive separately from them about a half hour after their arrival. I went straight to the top part of MetraPark to park and then walk down to the Chris Young concert with the use of my value pass!
I circled the upper lot for 30 minutes and there was not one parking space available. Good for fair traffic on the grounds of MetraPark, or was it? I called my wife and told her I was not able to find “legal” parking so we all met at Outback Steak House for dinner, instead of spending money at the fair on August 8th. We did get there earlier the next day and found plenty of parking.
I have changed my mind on the relatively new “paid” parking at MetraPark. I believe the $10.00 fee is worth it, just for the convenience. It is directly across from the box office with easy and quick access to the rides, food and fun at Montana Fair! Make sure you have cash to park, as credit cards are not accepted. Enjoy the fair!
