The Annual Perseid Meteor Shower Offers Celestial Show In Night Sky

One of the many things I miss about living in the country is starry nights.  With no city lights around the night time sky is amazing.  One of the best shows in the sky is starting to happen right now and that is the Perseids Shower.  Starting tonight July 17th and running through about August 24th.  Experts believe there will be about 80 meteors an hour and could peak to 150+.  The meteors streak across the sky around late evening.  This lends itself to an excuse for camping, if you live in the city.  Get away from the urban lights, out in the countryside.  Make sure you take plenty of snacks, a comfortable chair or blanket and lay back and enjoy!  Apparently the shower will reach it's peak on August 12th, which just happens to be a Saturday night.  Then best hours on that date is actually pre-dawn.
