Peter Criss last took a ride on the Kiss merry-go-round in 2004, parting ways with the band that March following the conclusion of a co-headlining tour with Aerosmith. What’s the drummer been up to since then?

“I’ve been taking it easy, I’ve been enjoying my life,” says Criss. “I live on the Jersey shore, I kind of go to the gym every day. My alley cat ways are over. I’ve become a domestic cat.” (He’s also joined the fight against breast cancer, as our recent interview with Criss explains.)

But, would the domestic cat be up for one more trip out on the road with Kiss? Apparently there have been rumors of a classic Kiss lineup reunion, but don’t get your hopes up for Criss taking part.

When asked point blank if he would consider playing with Kiss again, Criss replied, “I don’t know about that,” with a hearty laugh backing that up. He added: “I’d be open to anything that’s fair in life. Anything that’s, you know, fair. If it’s not fair, I don’t want to do it. I want a fair shake in everything I do.”

Is Criss perhaps hinting that there were some unfair terms in his past experiences with Kiss? Hard to tell, but he did leave the band three different times over the years, at least once over a contract dispute.

If nothing else, he seems content in his domestic cat life these days. Maybe all the original lineup Kiss fans out there should let “the Catman” retire in peace, if that’s what he wants.
