Phil Collins has pushed back a pair of shows in London after suffering a late-night fall in his hotel room.

“Phil suffers from ‘drop foot’ as a result of a back operation which makes it difficult to walk,” Collins’ management said on Facebook. “He rose in the middle of the night to go to the toilet and slipped in his hotel room, hitting his head in the fall on a chair. He was taken to hospital, where he had stitches for a severe gash on his head close to his eye and is recovering well. He will be kept under observation for 24 hours.”

Concerts set for tonight and tomorrow have been rescheduled for November. All tickets for the June 8 show are now valid for Nov. 26; June 9 tickets will be good for Nov. 27. The Genesis legend’s next scheduled stop is in Cologne, Germany, on Sunday.

Foot drop, which is sometimes called “drop foot,” impacts a victim’s ability to lift the front part of the foot – causing the toes to drag while walking. There are a variety of causes, including nerve problems, brain or spinal injuries and muscle disorders.

“Phil sends his sincere apologies and thanks to fans,” the statement added. “He has had a fantastic week at his first shows in 10 years, cannot thank people enough for their warm reaction and is excited to return.”

Collins, 66, confirmed his long-awaited comeback in 2015. He then completed a massive solo-album reissue campaign. Before that, his most recent album was 2010’s Motown-focused Going Back.
