Rated X -- the new band featuring former Rainbow and Deep Purple singer Joe Lynn Turner, ex-Vanilla Fudge drummer Carmine Appice and ex-the Firm bassist Tony Franklin alongside guitarist Karl Cochran -- has unveiled the video for their debut single, 'This Is Who I Am.'

As previously reported, the band started with a phone call from Frontiers Records chief Serafino Perugino, who dreamed up the idea of Turner fronting a group of the "highest caliber musicians" for an album of new "classic hard rock music."

After a bit of turnover and a name change -- the band was once called Legacy X, and originally included ex-Kiss guitarist Bruce Kulick, who was then replaced by former Night Ranger member Jeff Watson before Cochran finally stepped in -- the lineup coalesced, and Rated X were born.

The group's self-titled debut is due out in the U.S. on Nov. 11, and is available for pre-order here; to Appice's ears, the results recall a band he and Franklin were in between 1988-92. "To me, it sounds like Blue Murder with Joe Lynn Turner singing," he mused in a press release announcing the album. "Having Tony and myself as the rhythm section and with the heavy guitars, it gives the record a Blue Murder vibe … It all works together and I loved playing each song."
