It was a brief performance, but the Rolling Stones left fans thoroughly rocked at the 12-12-12 benefit at New York’s Madison Square Garden Wednesday night. Mick Jagger and the band provided a club-like party atmosphere for their two-song performance.

They started with the blistering version of ‘You Got Me Rocking’ with Jagger in a jovial mood, advising the crowd to dance and cheer along as he slinked and sauntered across the stage. The singer would later joke, “This has got to be the largest collection of old English musicians ever assembled in Madison Square Garden.” In fact, the Stones had followed fellow Brits Eric Clapton and Roger Waters during the evening, with Paul McCartney set to appear later in the night.

The second song of their set was instantly recognizable as soon as Keith Richards laid down the opening licks of ‘Jumpin’ Jack Flash,’ sending the crowd into a frenzy. Though their performance was brief, the band left the audience wanting for more.

The 12-12-12 benefit was designed to raise funds for the Robin Hood Relief Fund as they attempt to help family recovery in the wake of Hurricane Sandy. You can find out more about the organization and make donations here.
