During an interview with Rolling Stone Magazine, Geddy Lee, (Bass/Keyboards/Vocals) revealed plans for a spring release of a new Rush Album.

During the interview, Geddy told reporter Andy Greene:

We're almost finished writing. We wound the machine back up about three weeks ago. After a sluggish start, we've had a very fruitful couple of weeks in terms of writing. I'm very pleased with the direction that the material has taken. And I think we have one or two more songs that we'd like to write, and then we'll start recording in earnest. Hopefully we'll have all of the recording done before Christmas. Then we'll mix it some time in the next year, and then get it out.

Exciting news for Rush fans, adding to the anticipation of their upcoming DVD chronicling last year's "Time Machine Tour", which will be released on Nov. 8 2011. A tour I was lucky enough to see last year at Red Rocks Amphitheater. The Canadian power trio still has what it takes to thrill the crowd with their unrivaled musicianship, off beat sense of humor and an astounding amount of technology.

I've already pre-ordered the DVD from Amazon.com and will be awaiting the new album like a child counting down the days until Santa stuffs his fat rear end down a grimy chimney, only to pop out into the living room with a bag full of pure joy.
