A new unboxing trailer has been released for the forthcoming deluxe vinyl reissue of Rush‘s eponymous debut, now officially titled ‘Rush ReDISCovered.’ The set, housed in a custom box and due on April 15 via Anthem-Universal, marks the seminal project’s 40th anniversary.
‘Rush ReDISCovered,’ which will list at $35.99, has undergone a Direct Metal Mastering for this 220-gram LP release, under the supervision of Sean Magee at Abbey Road Studios. Magee earlier oversaw the remastering of the Beatles catalog to vinyl.
Originally released in March 1974 on Canada’s Moon Records imprint, ‘Rush’ eventually moved over to Mercury Records – which remixed the project for a July release after Rush broke in the American market via WMMS in Cleveland. This new reissue uses the original analog stereo masters.
Also included on ‘Rush ReDISCovered': The original jacket art, complete with MN-100-A/B etching, a 16-by-22 inch reproduction of the initial Rush promo poster (of which only 500 were originally printed) three 5-by-7 inch lithos of the original lineup, a 12-by-12 Rush Family Tree poster and a digital download card for the remastered release.
