Around 1972 Genesis had stabilised with Peter Gabriel, Tony Banks, Mike Rutherford, Steve Hackett, and Phil Collins. With regular touring and some success with the album Foxtrot, they came to the U.S. However, they were compared to bands such as ELP, Jethro Tull, and Pink Floyd. They did alright until Phil Collins left the band and went solo. This is what early Genesis sounded like.
