Savvy Chocolate-Maker Creates Deliciously Edible Shoes
They say the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach. Well, the way to a woman’s might just be through her feet.
In a bolt of Valentine’s Day lightning, Dallas-based chocolatier Andrea Pedraza has carved a name for herself by making women’s shoes — out of chocolate.
Pedraza’s trademark confections are pumps that look like Christian Louboutin shoes. Unlike Louboutins, though, her chocolates are a lot less painful on the wallet, going for $30 to $55 a pop. Prices, however, can rise if you put chocolate in the heel. And, really, why wouldn’t you?
While the chocolates clearly appeal to a female crowd, Pedraza says her best customers are men who wait until the last minute to buy gifts.
