Sean Bean Goes Rogue-ish for The Wachowskis’ ‘Jupiter Ascending’

Everyone’s favorite cinematic murder victim Sean Bean may eventually star in a movie where he isn’t killed off. At least, we hope so. The Wachowskis have cast him in ‘Jupiter Ascending‘ as a Han Solo type, which hopefully means maybe the worst that happens is that he gets frozen in carbonite (fingers crossed).

This comes from Deadline Hollywood, who don’t mention much more than the Han Solo thing about his character, and offer no information about the movie, which is being kept under very tight wraps. We do know the cast includes Channing Tatum, Mila Kunis and Eddie Redmayne in this secretive science fiction thriller.

Bean has been great of late, he does die quite frequently (something he did well in ‘The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring’ and in ‘Game of Thrones‘). And getting a role descibed as Han-Solo like invokes a cool that Bean definitely has in his wheelhouse. We don’t know much about ‘Jupiter Ascending’ and probably won’t for quite some time, but that Warner Brothers is going forward with this movie after the Wachowskis flopped with both ‘Speed Racer’ and ‘Cloud Atlas‘ suggests that Andy and Lana have a winning hand with this one. We’ll definitely be following this one closely.
