Fourteen years after the terrorist attacks that brought down the Twin Towers in downtown Manhattan, friends and relatives of the nearly 3,000 people who died on September 11, 2001, gathered at the site to read the names of the victims, lay flowers on the memorial, and speak in their memories.

A remembrance ceremony also took place on the White House lawn, with President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama showing their respects for all those who died that day.
