It was not a good week for Major League Baseball umpire Angel Hernandez.

On Wednesday night Hernandez made a horrendous call that directly affected the outcome of the game between the Oakland A's and Cleveland Indians. The Indians ended up winning the game, 4-3, because of that error. It was clear to most people that Adam Rosales' long shot to left-center hit the railing above the yellow line at the top of the fence, but Hernandez ruled it a ground-rule double instead of a home run. Even after looking at a replay (which, again, showed very, very clearly that the ball was a homer), Hernandez refused to budge. That home run would have tied the game.

MLB has acknowledged Hernandez's blown call but cannot reverse the decision. Earlier in the week Hernandez was also problematic behind the plate calling balls and strikes between the same two teams. So what should become of this situation?
