St. Vincent DePaul 6th Annual Walk For The Poor
The St. Vincent DePaul’s in the United States held their 6th Annual Friends Of The Poor Walk this past Saturday, including St. Vincent DePaul in Billings.Hundreds gathered in downtown Billings on Saturday to walk with the poor. KTVQ’s, Ed McIntosh was the Grand Marshall of the walk this year.
I have learned so much this morning, just talking to the homeless gathered here this morning. Thank you for making me feel so welcome, lets walk- Ed McIntosh
On a morning that was about 55 degrees we walked about one mile in honor of those who are less fortunate. Dignitaries such as Yellowstone County Commissioner Bill Kennedy and MetraPark General Manager Bill Dutcher and his wife Sue joined in this years 6th annual walk. Some walked fast for cardio, some strolled through downtown Billings including making a stop into the Saturday Farmer’s Market!
We all met back at St. Vincent DePaul for a brunch prepared by St. Vincent Health Care at about 11 a.m. Please keep the winter clothing donations coming in, all sizes! I learned on Saturday at this event that size does matter! I met one of Billings homeless men, Christopher Fisher. Happy to be warm and love the gathering at St. Vincent DePaul. The man needs size 20 shoes!
Keri and I went out and shopped all over Billings for a size 20. Closest we got was a size 19 at Ross! Too small! If you can help out on rounding up a couple of pairs of size 20 men’s shoes that would be great. Christopher takes his need for XXXL shoes in stride but would appreciate shoes that fit.
