Black Sabbath will indeed go ahead and with their scheduled headlining set at this summer’s Download Festival in England, despite the recent announcement that Tony Iommi is battling lymphoma. The guitarist revealed just two weeks ago that he had been diagnosed with early stages of the cancer and is in the process of working with doctors to determine the best course of treatment.

While the name of Alice Cooper‘s yearly charity concert may cause one to taste breakfast a second time, the lineup for the 11th annual Welcome 2 My Pudding concert is unmistakably tasty. Sebastian Bach, Black Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler, former Guns N’ Roses member Duff McKagan, and Tom Morello were just a few of the artists that showed up to honor the former Pantera guitarist, as well as the late Ronnie James Dio.
Wednesday night’s Billy Joel show at the University of Massachusetts was far from his biggest concert ever, but for the audience of about 900 students and staff it was more than entertaining. Joel sang, told stories, gave lessons, did impressions and revealed secrets inside Durgin Hall.

Paul McCartney played his only London gig of 2011 last night (Dec. 5) — and he made it count, delivering a hits-packed, three-hour set to his O2 Arena fans, including several songs he’d never played in the UK before.
But that wasn’t all McCartney had in store for fans: as the evening drew to a close, he told the crowd he had a “surprise” for them before bringing out Rolling Stones guitarist Ron Wood, who joined McCartney for an energetic performance of ‘Get Back.’

Metallica‘s first trip to India isn’t turning out quite the way they had planned. The metal mavens were scheduled to play their first-ever concert there Friday (Oct. 28) in the city of Gurgaon, but after 20,000 fans turned up and became irate after waiting several hours for the gig to start, a stampede caused barricades to collapse. Promoters then decided to postpone the show until Saturday, and that announcement, in turn, caused several fans to riot, rushing the stage and causing damage to LED screens, monitors and other gear.
