Crowd Boos Axl Rose at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

In an open letter last week, Axl Rose made himself perfectly clear: he didn’t feel “wanted or respected” by his former Guns N’ Roses bandmates, so not only would he skip the band’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, he didn’t want to be inducted at all.

A couple names you may recognize said the decision was a mistake, and the crowd on Saturday night made their feelings known as well.

Unlike one artist being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on Saturday night, the the Faces / Small Faces are embracing the honor. Sometime today (Friday, April 13) the rockers will rehearse the three songs they’ll play at the ceremony the next night, although it’s anyone’s guess which three songs that will be.

So now we know Axl Rose won’t be in attendance when Guns N’ Roses are inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this weekend, thus scuttling our dreams of a one-night-only reunion of the band’s classic lineup. All that’s left now is to wait for the ceremony — oh, and read a couple of Duff McKagan editorials about the whole thing.
