I must confess...I had never heard of Whiplash until the Academy Awards, but I've certainly added it to my list of movies to watch. Not only because U of M grad J.K. Simmons won an Oscar for his role, but more so because it looks like a really great movie...

There weren't a whole lot of surprises at the 83rd Academy Awards -- as expected, "The King's Speech" took the big prize as Best Picture.
