Pearl Jam's Mike McCready and Guns N' Roses' Duff McKagan Form New Supergroup

Mike McCready of Pearl Jam, Duff Mckagan of Guns N' Roses and Barrett Martin of the Screaming Trees have formed three-fourths of a rock supergroup that will rely on a cast of vocalists to finish their debut album. As of now, the group doesn't have a name but that hasn't dammed their inspiration.

Rickey Charles Goodrich, who served as the chief financial officer for Pearl Jam‘s management company, has been charged with 33 counts of theft. Felony charges were filed in King County, Wash. According to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, Goodrich stole $380,000 from Curtis Management between 2006 and 2010, when he was fired. Goodrich declined to comment. He [...]

Pearl Jam Bassist Pays Tribute to Duck Dunn

We’re still getting more tributes to Booker T. and the MGs bassist Donald “Duck” Dunn, who passed away Sunday morning at the age of 70. The latest one comes from Pearl Jam bassist Jeff Ament, who, in 2007, put Dunn’s name into the neck of one of his basses. On the band’s website, Ament shared a picture of the bass as well as his rememberances of seeing Dunn up close every night while opening up for Neil Young in 1993.

By the end of next week, Pink Floyd fans will really be ‘Comfortably Numb.’

From Sept. 26-30, Jimmy Fallon will pay tribute to the legendary British band on his NBC show. Among those scheduled to drop by are Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters and Dierks Bentley, plus Floyd members Roger Waters and Nick Mason.

It might say 2011 on your calendar, but this fall, it’s 1991 all over again, what with deluxe reissues of 20-year-old albums from bands including U2, Spin Doctors, and Pearl Jam, whose landmark debut ‘Ten’ was the inspiration for a new documentary from none other than ‘Singles’ and ‘Jerry Maguire’ director Cameron Crowe.

The film, titled ‘Pearl Jam Twenty,’ is getting a hefty double-disc soundtrack that includes live tracks, demos, and assorted rarities from Pearl Jam’s vaults — and although it doesn’t come out until September 20, you can listen to the whole thing now.
