Vince Gill is one of country’s most distinctive singers, but he’s more than just a pretty voice — he’s also one of the industry’s most gifted guitarists.

One person who’s aware of those gifts? Alice Cooper, who asked Gill to add a little spice to a track from Cooper’s upcoming album, ‘Welcome 2 My Nightmare’ — and Gill responded with a hard-rockin’ solo that might take some of his longtime fans by surprise.

It’s always hard for a sequel to recapture the excitement of whatever made the original great, but give Alice Cooper credit — he’s doing whatever he can to convince fans that his upcoming album, a sequel to his classic ‘Welcome to My Nightmare,’ is something special.

Cooper reunited with the original Alice Cooper Band for a few tracks on the new ‘Nightmare’ and even enlisted his old producer, Bob Ezrin. If that wasn’t enough, he’ll also release a deluxe “fanpack” edition of the sequel, titled ‘Welcome 2 My Nightmare,’ that packs in a boatload of extras.
