Hans Zimmer, who composed such movie scores as 'Man of Steel' and Christopher Nolan's 'Dark Knight' trilogy, is next tackling 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2,' picking up after James Horner's work on the first Marc Webb-directed installment. But Zimmer is apparently not alone. Rapper Pharrell Williams, who has a scoring credit on 'Despicable Me 2,' has teamed up with the famous composer to tackle Spidey.

In an interview with Billboard, Pharrell listed off a bunch of his upcoming projects, making this surprise reveal in the process:

Ed Sheeran. Usher. I’m going back in with T.I. Beyonce. Jennifer Hudson. Nelly has this really big record named “Rick James.” That’s my jam. Hans Zimmer and I are scoring “The Amazing Spiderman 2.” The “Happy” video, it just feels like people—good people that all remember that we are entitled to smile. I’m very excited about that.

Does this also mean we'll be getting a new Pharrell track on the 'Amazing Spider-Man 2' soundtrack?

Pharrell has dipped his toes into a variety of different arenas, including production and composition, and even dabbling in fashion. He's previously lent his talents to the 'Despicable Me,' 'Mean Girls' and 'Bad Boys 2' soundtracks, and he has a drum orchestra credit on the 'Man of Steel' soundtrack. He's been outspoken about his mentor-like relationship with Zimmer, so it's no surprise the two are teaming up again.

Zimmer previously teased of his upcoming score, "I’m sort of grappling with a completely different way of doing it right now, and literally it’s just the laboratory doors are open right now. I have an idea but I haven’t played it to anybody yet, so I don’t even know if it’s going to work yet."

'The Amazing Spider-Man 2' stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Paul Giamatti and Dane DeHaan, and swings into theaters May 2, 2014.
