This week, while the Northeast has been buried in snow, we've been enjoying some unseasonably mild weather.  Even though the temperature has dropped the last couple of days and we could see some cold and snow this weekend, we've had a nice stretch of weather for this time of year.

There is one drawback to our brief respite from winter.  That moment when you survey your backyard and realize that, underneath that pile of snow and ice, your dog had laid about 50 landmines. Which leaves us with a dilemma. Do we hunker down and pick up the small mountain of poop piles or wait until it snows again and put it off until the spring?

As the great Homer Simpson once said, "trying is the first step towards failure".
