It’s been a while since I’ve been to a bar. It’s been even longer since I’ve been to a bar in Billings. The last time I started in at noon? I couldn’t even tell you. Well I was able to check all three of those off of my list last weekend with the Parrothead Pub Crawl, a fundraiser for the Ramsey Keller Memorial.  What’s a pub crawl? First you go to a bar, then leave that bar and go to another bar. Rinse and repeat until all of the bars on the list have been checked off or you’ve checked out. Depending on the theme there might be an activity at the bars beyond getting the next round of drinks for your teammates but that’s not necessarily a requirement.

So what are we talking about here? Seven bars in seven hours. Three questions at each bar and a prize at the end of the whole ordeal. Starting with Bones on Broadwater at one end and The Vig in The Heights and everywhere in between there was actually quite a bit of ground to cover. Rather than giving a rundown on each and every bar I’ll just say that some were definitely better than others (The Western made us wings and The Brew Pub had fantastic service). Long story short: Pub crawls are a lot of fun. Pub crawls for a great charity are even better. This little burg is a little short on these sorts of things but should you happen to hear about an upcoming pub crawl I would highly recommend attending. For more information see the Ramsey Keller Memorial website.

I know what you’re saying, “This was weeks ago. Why are you posting this now?” Good question! It’s because this weekend the Parrothead folks are doing another charity event for the Ramsey Keller Memorial. It's called Get Freaky in the Tiki held Saturday, October 27th at 1728 Lampman Drive, Suite B (behind Ziggy's) and starts at 7pm. There's a suggested donation of $25 per person or $40 for a couple.
