State Senator Doug Kary of Billings is sponsoring SB 179 which would lift the burden of enforcing the Montana Clean Indoor Act on elected officials. This is a second attempt by businesses in Billings to undo a local rule requiring a 20 foot smoke free zone outside of public buildings, including casinos, bars and restaurants. As of now, if someone is walking by a business and is smoking, the business owners gets the ticket. The business owners want that changed.
